The LMTA placed a wood bench for hikers to rest while crossing the LMT side trail between Douma and Baatara sinkhole via Jabal Foghri. The memorial bench was inaugurated by the Hrechdakian family and is in honor of Dr. Ara Hrechdakian who supported the LMT Association. The bench was made from ash tree wood, symbol of solidity and immortality, with oak wood bowtie connectors and has the following engraved on it: "In loving memory of Dr. Ara Hrechdakian who cherished our mountains". In this emotional video produced as part of a series for Warchée (www.warchee.org), Sabine Hrechdakian recalls touching memories of her late father. The video also illustrates the care and dedication of the women of Warchée, a women-led association commissioned by the LMTA to build the wood bench. This association operates as a sustainable social enterprise and was founded with the purpose of integrating women into the construction and wood-working fields.
وضعت جمعية درب الجبل اللبناني مقعدًا خشبيًا لاستراحة المشاة أثناء رحلاتهم على الدرب الجانبي لدرب الجبل اللبناني في دوما - بالوع بعتارة (عبر جبل فغري). تم افتتاح المقعد من قبل عائلة هريشداكيان خلال حفل تذكاري للدكتور آرا هريشداكيان الذي دعم جمعية درب الجبل اللبناني. صنع المقعد من خشب شجرة الرماد، رمز الصلابة والخلود، مع وصلات من خشب السنديان وحفر عليه: « تخليداً لذكرى الدكتور آرا هرشدكيان وحبه لجبال لبنان ». تروي سابين هريشداكيان في هذا الفيديو العاطفي ذكريات مؤثرة لوالدها الراحل. يطلعنا أيضا الفيديو عن براعة ومهارة نساء جمعية warch(ée) (www.warchee.org) الذي كلفتها جمعية درب الجبل اللبناني بتصميم وتصنيع المقعد. تأسست تلك الجمعية بهدف دمج النساء في مجالات البناء والأعمال الخشبية من خلال اسلوب عمل اجتماعي مستدام تحت ادارة النساء. تم إنتاج الفيديو ضمن سلسلة اعلامية ل warch(ée) (www.warchee.org)
